Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned ENL instruction that supports language development across reading, writing, speaking, and listening
- Provide push-in and pull-out support based on student needs and program requirements
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to co-plan and adapt instruction to support multilingual learners
- Write and submit clear lesson plans and weekly instructional overviews
- Use data to monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
- Support the implementation of scaffolds, accommodations, and language supports across classrooms
- Administer and support NYS language proficiency assessments (e.g., NYSESLAT)
- Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all MLL program requirements
- Maintain a beautiful, organized classroom environment that reflects student learning, including bulletin boards and displays
- Collaborate closely with arts teachers to plan and support school-based events, including performances, art exhibits, and science fairs, and actively participate in these events, including those that take place beyond the school day
- Communicate regularly with families, including parent-teacher conferences
- Participate in professional development and coaching cycles
- Strong knowledge of second language acquisition and ENL instructional practices
- Ability to collaborate effectively with classroom teachers and support inclusive instruction
- Strong instructional planning and execution
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with instructional technology and data tracking tools
- Organized, proactive, and solutions-driven

- Passion for the arts and belief in creativity as a driver of student success
- New York State Certification in ESOL/ENL (required)
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- Experience working with multilingual learners preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a strong plus
- Clearance for fingerprinting and criminal background check required
