Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver standards-aligned, high-quality instruction in your content area
- Submit weekly lesson overviews and maintain strong, thoughtful lesson plans
- Use data to drive instruction and ensure student mastery
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of all learners
- Build a structured, positive, high-expectations classroom culture
- Maintain a beautiful, organized classroom that showcases student learning, including regularly updated bulletin boards and displays
- Collaborate closely with arts teachers to plan and support school-based events, including performances, art exhibits, and science fairs, and actively participate in these events, including those that take place beyond the school day
- Communicate regularly with families, including parent-teacher conferences
- Collaborate with grade teams and content teams to plan instruction, analyze data, and refine practice
- Participate in ongoing professional development and coaching cycles
- Strong content knowledge in ELA, Math, Science, or Social Studies
- Strong instructional planning and execution
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Proficiency with instructional technology
- Strong classroom management and culture-building skills
- Growth mindset and openness to feedback
- Collaborative team player
- Passion for the arts and creative instruction
- Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
- NYS Teaching Certification (or in progress) in relevant subject area
- Experience teaching middle school students preferred
- Bilingual (Spanish) is a plus
