  • Responsibility Overview:

    • Support the overall vision for the brand and works closely with CEO and leadership team to create strategy to execute that vision in the retail store.
    • Assume chief responsibility for all retail store related activity.
    • Provide leadership and support to entire retail team to ensure that daily retail functions are in sync and working to achieve the company goals and values.
    • Understand all the moving parts of retail operations of the business and is the primary coordinator and communicator between retail staff and admin staff.
    • Regularly review retail procedures and policies and periodically restructures them to overcome company challenges.
    • Demonstrate professional, proactive and compassionate role-modeling behavior for all retail staff.


    Operations of Retail Store

    • Plan and implement store sale strategies to achieve overall sales goals.
    • Forecast sales and projections at the retail store and articulate to staff to incentivize sales goals.
    • Participate in regular check-in meetings with Bronwen and the leadership team on the overall health and wellness of the retail shop.
    • Communicate any issues that come up and need assistance in a timely manner.
    • Plans, participates in, tracks, reports results and oversees 2x /year full in-person inventory of retail merchandise.
    • Collaborate with the marketing team, and keep in the loop about sales and promotions to be articulated through social media, web, print, email.
    • Plan, organize and staff store events such as Art Walk, Special Sales and hosted community events including provisioning refreshments.
    • Works with Product Development Team to create reports utilizing customer feedback, sales data, and viability of production to develop products that are successful and profitable.
    • Attend leadership team meetings.
    • Plan, schedule, and lead monthly meeting retail meetings.
    • Merchandise the retail shop and keep the floor looking fresh and clean.
    • Plan and orchestrate one store deep clean and reset once per quarter.
    • Merchandise the window on a need-to-be-done basis.
    • Maintain and update the retail store handbook so it is tidy, organized and effective.
    • Manage and regularly check in on google business to keep hours up to date.
    • Create new systems and procedures when current systems are out of date or no longer working.


    Staff Management

    • Create monthly retail schedules and communicate schedules effectively to each retail team member.
    • Plan, organize and works high traffic selling events, sales and weekends (WLW, SBS, Xmas, First Fridays, Summer Festivals etc).
    • Attend to time off requests and adhere to time off requests policies.
    • Manage the cleaning schedule and incentivize staff to stay on track with the upkeep of cleaning at the shop to ensure store is always clean, organized and well stocked.
    • Manage employee hours worked and forecast hiring based on expected needs.
    • Post job listings, manage candidates, schedule interviews and hire new employees as needed and approved by CEO.
    • Maintain a training manual and train new employees to high standards.


    Managing Inventory

    • Plan, supervise and participate in taking retail store inventory 2 x year and provides the report to CEO.
    • Receive new inventory - keep updated with the and create product listing in Shopify to reflect accurate cost and pricing.
    • Manage inventory between online and retail shop.
    • Work with production team to complete retail store replenishment orders using reports.
    • Conduct regular inventory quick counts to reconcile inventory levels in shopify.


    Buying

    • Ensure all display items/office supplies/cleaning supplies get ordered for the store in timely manner.
    • Assist with buying for the retail shop.
    • Keep an eye on inventory, trends, best sellers.
    • Work closely with CEO to maintain healthy inventory levels and budgets that reflect products with good turns, visual appeal, pricing and values that positively align with the brand
    • Attend the Tucson Gem show in February annually and act as spokesperson for retail on what products have strong turns.
    • Work closely with CEO to plan and edit merchandise assortment.
    • Act as primary contact for vendors - order and reorder products through Faire and directly with vendors.


    What We're Looking For:

    • Retail experience, especially in boutique settings with artisanal goods.
    • Availability to work weekends, and some weekdays. We are looking for someone to be available 4-5 Days a week.
    • Strong communication skills and ability to create trusting and authentic relationships.
    • Chipper and friendly attitude, must genuinely love connecting with new people.
    • Stellar communication skills and a knack for building genuine connections.
    • Attention to detail.
    • Ability to multitask and retain knowledge about products
    • Familiarity with Shopify POS is a bonus, but not a deal-breaker.
    • Physically capable of climbing stepladder to access high shelf products
    • Our downtown store is open 6 or 7 days/week depending upon season and our hours are between 10am - 6pm also depending upon season
