Position Overview
The ED Paramedic (EMT‑P) provides direct patient care in the Trauma & Emergency Center under the supervision of an RN. This role supports pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients, following established policies, procedures and competencies. Safe, confidential and patient‑centered care is essential.

What You’ll Do
- Provide patient care as directed by the RN
- Perform advanced paramedic skills and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments per policy
- Support patient comfort, safety and education
- Maintain clinical competency and follow evidence‑based practices
- Collaborate with the care team to support positive patient outcomes
- Uphold ethical, confidential and patient‑centered care standards
- Participate in professional development, peer collaboration and unit activities
What You Need
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited paramedic program
- Current Michigan EMT‑P license
- BCLS and ACLS required
- PALS required within 1 year of hire (preferred at hire)
- PHTLS/BTLS preferred (or obtained after hire)
- Three years of pre‑hospital paramedic experience preferred
- Previous hospital experience preferred
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Basic computer skills
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
- Clean, well‑lit, temperature‑controlled environment
- Occasional exposure to mechanical equipment, infectious disease, chemicals or airborne particles
- Regular standing, walking, talking, hearing and fine motor skills
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and respond quickly in emergencies
- Requires good body mechanics, vision and ability to manage stressful situations
Schedule
- 12‑hour night shift (3p–3a)
- Full‑time, 36 hours per week
