Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Physician Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Physician Assistant, you will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide quality patient care. Your role will involve assisting in medical procedures, conducting physical examinations, diagnosing and treating illnesses, and educating patients on preventive healthcare measures.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive physical examinations of patients, including taking medical histories and performing diagnostic tests
- Assist in the diagnosis and treatment of various medical conditions under the supervision of a physician
- Perform minor surgical procedures and assist in major surgeries
- Prescribe medications and provide appropriate follow-up care
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to develop and implement patient care plans
- Educate patients on health promotion, disease prevention, and treatment options
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records
- Stay current with advancements in medical research and technology
Qualifications:
- Valid Physician Assistant license in South Carolina
- Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies or related field
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology
- Experience in clinical research is preferred
- Proficiency in Athena EMR preferred
- Familiarity with discharge planning procedures
- Knowledge of infection control protocols and practices
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
