Position Summary:
As a Sushi Chef, you are responsible for operating the Sushi section of the kitchen to deliver an excellent member experience. The ideal candidate will also be required to plan production and develop seasonal offerings based on the Club's venues.
Essential Responsibilities:
Operate the sushi section of the kitchen
Ensure consistency in the quality of dishes at all times
coordinate all preparation and presentation in the section
Plan production to facilitate daily requirements
Develop appropriate seasonal menu offerings
Help to manage food cost controls & assist purchasing with a selection of quality sushi fish
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Minimum of 4 years of sushi chef experience required
Ability to maintain a professional and courteous demeanor during stressful and/or busy times
Must be able to work as part of a team and recognize the importance of each team member's role in the guest dining experience
Ability to prepare food for consumption with background knowledge of proper techniques and equipment to be used
Previous experience in the restaurant or hospitality industry required
Ability to walk, sit and stand for long periods of time
Must be able to work different shifts, including holidays, nights, and weekends
Must be able to work overtime as required
Education & Work Experience Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in accounting; or five years management experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Physical Requirements:
Requires extended periods of sitting, working at a computer.
