Company Description
We are a two doctor practice large animal practice with 4 support staff. Our work is primarily beef cattle focused but we also see horses, and the occasional ranch dog, ranch cat, and small ruminants. Our cattle work is primarily cow-calf and some feedlot and stocker operations. In addition, we service the local sale barn in Broken Bow. We have a haul-in clinic as well as portable facilities for on-ranch work. We don't take any small animal emergency calls!
Broken Bow is a progressive, small town is home to 3,500 and is 65 miles from the nearest "big town" of Kearney (population 35,000). Our community is home to all the amenities for a young professional or growing family, including a medical clinic, hospital, dental offices, physical therapists, chiropractors, good school system, health center, grocery store, and many other businesses and restaurants!
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Large Animal Veterinarian located in Broken Bow, NE. The Associate Veterinarian will be responsible for providing medical care, surgical treatment, and preventative care for cattle, horses, and other species. Other day-to-day tasks include conducting physical exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, and advising clients on animal care best practices. The role also involves emergency call duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in beef cattle veterinary practice
- Diagnostic skills and experience in treating large animals
- Strong communication and client service skills
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited university
- State Veterinary Board Certification and licensure in Nebraska
