    SUPERVISES: Assistant Principals, Building Faculty & Support Staff
    SALARY: Based on Degree and Years of Experience
    MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

    Education: Masters degree with a valid Oklahoma secondary principal's certificate; standard Oklahoma teaching certificate

    Experience: Minimum 5 years secondary school teaching experience; minimum 2 years secondary school administrative experience

    Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and problem resolution skills

    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

    1.Promotes the success of all students by facilitating the articulation, implementation and stewardship of the district's vision of learning.

    • Sets priorities for improving student achievement
    • Articulates and promotes high expectations for teaching and student learning
    • Aligns the site educational programs and plan to the district's vision and goals for student achievement
    • Develops communication strategies to inform stakeholders of progress towards the district's vision and mission

    2.Provides instructional leadership by advocating and sustaining a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional development.

    • Directs site activities designed to support the alignment, coordination and evaluation of the written, taught and assessed curriculum
    • Analyzes and identifies school improvement needs; plans and oversees school improvement activities
    • Provides instructional leadership in the delivery of curriculum and the directing of school resources to address diagnosed needs
    • Provides leadership for assessing, developing and improving student achievement
    • Interviews and recommends teachers and staff to support quality instruction; aligns teacher expertise with student instructional needs
    • Evaluates staff and provides direction for improving instruction; monitors the delivery of instruction, analyzes and diagnoses areas of deficiency, and develops teacher professional growth plans; assists teachers in evaluating the effectiveness of their methods of instruction on learner outcomes

    3.Promotes the success of all students through direct management of site operations and resources for a safe, efficient and effective learning environment which maximizes student outcomes.

    • Develops and directs an effective student discipline program in accordance with Board of Education policy and which supports the delivery of instruction
    • Plans and directs site emergency preparedness; insures building and staff compliance with district safety standards; monitors building, identifies hazards and takes immediate steps to remedy and prevent problems; emphasizes safety with staff; insures accidents handled per established procedure and timelines.
    • Manages fiscal resources of the school responsibly, efficiently, effectively and within established deadlines; prepares and oversees site budget; approves purchases consistent with BOE policy and state law; manages site fixed assets in compliance with BOE policy and established procedure.
    • Liaisons with Child Nutrition in establishing lunch schedules, resolving issues, evaluating food service managers, assigning staff to lunch duty, communicating with parents and supporting healthy lifestyle initiatives.
    • Liaisons with Transportation in establishment of bus schedules, student discipline, monitoring of bus loading/unloading, presentation of student safety presentations, inclement weather and parent communications.
    • Liaisons with Plant Operations in coordinating the work of day and night custodians including advance notification of events/night activities, assisting with work focus of custodians, and complying with regulations and procedures regarding OSHA postings, biohazard waste cleanup and hazardous materials communication.
    • Liaisons with Maintenance in the submission of work orders via the online work order system and then monitoring of submissions.
    • Liaisons with central office staff in the development of capital improvement planning by analyzing and articulating site needs, forecasting future needs, supporting district decisions and communicating decisions positively to stakeholders.
    • Effectively manages and communicates district policies and procedures. Designs and manages site procedures to maximize opportunities for student learning.
    • Demonstrates effective communication skills with a variety of stakeholders in the operation of the site

    4.Promotes the success of all students by collaborating with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and mobilizing community resources.

    • Provides leadership in the development and maintenance of a strong parent outreach program
    • Engages the community to create shared responsibility for student and school success
    • Promotes and supports parent/student/community involvement in the school
    • Communicates site media opportunities to district communications department
    • Liaisons with Chief Communications Officer in the evaluation and recognition of campus groups/clubs and in the development of communication plans for parents and the school community

    5.Promotes the success of all students by acting with integrity, fairness and in an ethical manner.

    • Demonstrates ethical, trustworthy and professional behavior

    ATTENDANCE STATEMENT:
    Able to in attendance for assigned responsibilities with 95% attendance excluding vacation.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS:
    Primarily inside working conditions with no extreme environmental exposure.

    • Ability to supervise activities in various environments, including classrooms, cafeterias, playgrounds, athletic areas, parking lots, and assembly spaces.
    • Ability to hear and communicate effectively in order to exchange information, give instructions, and respond to staff, students, and parents.
    • Visual ability to read printed materials, computer screens, and observe student behavior and school activities.
