Laundry Technician

JOB SUMMARY:

• To assist the Environmental Services Department in ensuring a sanitary and attractive facility and maintaining clean linens for patients and departmental use. This opportunity is open to both part-time and full-time. 

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES:

1. Adheres to Brodstone Healthcare’s Mission, Vision and Values.
2. Adheres to Brodstone Healthcare’s Standards of Behavior.
3. Gathers linens from the first floor of the hospital, all linens are sorted and put into the appropriate basket in the laundry room. Linens from the second floor are gathered and brought to the laundry room and sorted into the appropriate baskets.
4. Linens are sorted according to washing instructions; loads are sorted, the washer is automatically set to the proper wash cycles for the type of linens being washed.
5. When the washer is finished with the cycle, the wet linens are placed in a clean linen cart and sent right to the dryer, the dryer is set to the appropriate setting for the load you are drying. Start dryer.
6. Allow dryer to cool, when removing linen from dryer make sure to shake linen to eliminate wrinkling. All linen shall be folded according to policy and procedure.
7. Linens are placed in a clean linen cart and covered before leaving the laundry room to be transported to appropriate areas.
8. Attends and participates in departmental meetings/in-services, Brodstone Healthcare quality improvement program, etc.
9. Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:

• Preferred
  • GED or High School Diploma

EXPERIENCE:

• Required
  • One month related experience and/or training; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.
