What are the responsibilities and job description for the Front of House Team Member position at Broders' Pasta Bar?
Broders' Cucina Italiana has been serving and selling house made and quality imported pastas and risottos since 1982, focusing both on Italian regional traditions as well as seasonal and local ingredients.
Front of House Team Members are often the first or final point of contact, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service, taking orders, and maintaining a clean, welcoming environment. They ensure a positive guest experience through efficient service, menu knowledge, and effective communication, thriving in fast-paced, high-stress environments.
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere for all Broders’ guests by being attentive and anticipating needs from start to finish.
- Place and gather guest orders accurately and clearly communicate wait times, and any other information pertinent to the guest's order- in person or on the phone.
- Packaging foods to sell for our retail space as needed.
- Wipe down tables and countertops, refill guest supplies and sweep floors as needed.
- Ability to perform all tasks to completion and communicate when help is needed
- Checks out with MOD at the end of a shift and can demonstrate that all tasks have been completed to set up the next shifts team members up for success.
- Has knowledge of FOH space storage spaces and is able to maintain organization of product within preset guidelines and with the space provided.
- Maintains a clean workspace, labels and stores food in the appropriate manor.
- Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills & Abilities:
- Proven experience in food service, quick service restaurants, or café environments with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS for efficient order processing
- Strong food preparation skills and knowledge of food safety practices in the food industry
- Excellent time management skills to handle multiple tasks during busy periods effectively
- Ability to upsell products confidently while maintaining a positive attitude
- Basic math skills for cash handling, retail math, and accurate order totals
- Experience with cashiering, serving, bussing tables, and general food handling procedures
- Weekend and evening availability
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods standing and walking on hard surfaces.
- Extensive bending, grasping, reaching and manipulating objects.
- Must be able to access and navigate all areas of store.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
