Job Description:
The Substitute Teacher provides temporary instructional support in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. Responsibilities include managing classroom behavior, delivering pre-planned lessons, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment, and ensuring continuity of instruction. The Substitute Teacher must follow school policies and work under the guidance of school administration and/or certified staff when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise students in a classroom setting.
- Implement lesson plans left by the regular teacher.
- Manage student behavior and ensure classroom order.
- Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Report attendance, incidents, or concerns to appropriate staff.
- Follow district and school policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent and Associate’s Degree (minimum).
- Ability to follow instructions and adapt to various classroom settings.
- Strong communication and classroom management skills.
- Background check and fingerprint clearance (as required by the district).
