Job Description: Contingent upon funding, the Community Schools Office is seeking Health Liaisons to work after school programs during the 2026–2027 school year. Health Liaisons will work from one of the sites and should be prepared to visit several sites during the year. This position is a job share. Programs are currently held at the following elementary schools: Angelo, Arnone, Baker, Brookfield, Davis, Downey, George, Gilmore, Hancock, Kennedy, and Raymond Schools.
Position Title:
Nurses/Health Liaison for Smart Start Extended Day Programs 2026–2027 - Brockton Public Schools is seeking Nurses/Health Liaison for the Community Schools Extended Day Program for the 2026–2027 school year.
Program Schedule:
•After School Program: Monday–Friday, 3:30 PM – 6:00 PM
Important Requirement:
Applicants must be available to begin work at 3:30 PM for the after-school Smart Start Extended Day program.
Qualifications
1.Must be a Registered Nurse or Licensed Practical Nurse
2.Must have a current CPR, First Aid and AED Certification
3.Excellent organizational, communication and computer skills
4.Familiarity with the electronic health record School Nurse Assistance Program (SNAP)
Duties and Responsibilities
1.Be available by phone to consult with site supervisors on medical situations during scheduled shifts
2.Review medical information of enrolled students at all before and after school sites
3.Communicate with parents and site supervisors regarding medical conditions
4.Provide training to site supervisors on the use of Epi-Pens and inhalers
5.Collaborate and communicate with school nurses, parents and site supervisors to collect and organize required medical records of enrolled students, including child physical exam records and Individual Health Care Plans as mandated by the Department of Early Education and Care
6.Review medical information for vacation program and summer program enrollment
7.Adhere to required EEC regulations for funded programs including a Background Record Check
8.Other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Schools, Coordinator of Smart Start Extended Day, and the Coordinator of 21st Century programs.
Compensation
BEA nurses – According to contract
Non-BEA Nurses - $39.70/hour
Health Paras - $33
