Brock11 Consulting is partnered with a growing food manufacturer to identify an experienced Maintenance Planner/Scheduler to join its maintenance organization.


This role will serve as a key partner to Maintenance and Operations, helping strengthen maintenance planning, equipment reliability, preventive maintenance, and overall plant performance.


The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will be responsible for developing, coordinating, planning, and scheduling preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work. This individual will work closely with Maintenance Leadership, Operations, Production Scheduling, technicians, vendors, and contractors to ensure maintenance work is properly planned, prioritized, resourced, and executed.

Compensation: $70,000–$80,000 annually, plus bonus opportunity

Classification: Exempt, Non-Union

Reports To: Senior Maintenance Manager


Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed maintenance job plans, including scope, labor, safety requirements, tools, parts, contractor support, and estimated completion time.
  • Develop and maintain daily, weekly, monthly, and shutdown maintenance schedules.
  • Partner with Operations and Production Scheduling to identify equipment availability and secure planned downtime.
  • Maintain and prioritize the work-order backlog based on safety, food safety, asset criticality, and production risk.
  • Prepare for and facilitate maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with Maintenance Leadership and Operations.
  • Coordinate equipment rebuilds, shutdown work, OEM support, contractors, parts availability, and parts kitting.
  • Administer and maintain the CMMS, including asset information, work-order status, equipment history, documentation, failure codes, and user access.
  • Develop and continuously improve preventive maintenance procedures and frequencies.
  • Support the continued advancement of predictive maintenance, condition-based monitoring, and reliability-centered maintenance practices.
  • Prepare and maintain maintenance KPI reporting, including PM compliance, schedule compliance, backlog health, planned versus reactive maintenance, labor utilization, productivity, OEE, MTBF, MTTR, downtime, inventory accuracy, and maintenance costs.
  • Analyze maintenance data to identify trends, recurring equipment failures, root causes, and opportunities to reduce unplanned downtime.
  • Conduct maintenance audits, track corrective actions, and recommend improvements to job plans and PM procedures.
  • Provide backup support to the MRO Buyer, including critical spare parts, inventory replenishment, parts sourcing, vendor coordination, purchase orders, and repair/rebuild services.
  • Collaborate across Maintenance, Operations, Quality, Production Scheduling, and other departments to support plant reliability and production objectives.


Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 5–7 years of industrial maintenance experience; food manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Hands-on industrial maintenance experience strongly preferred, including mechanical, electrical, multi-craft, controls, or equivalent technical experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, CMMS administration, and/or MRO support preferred.
  • Strong experience with CMMS/EAM systems such as Limble, eMaint, Fiix, Maintenance Connection, MicroMain, SAP, Maximo, or similar systems.
  • Experience with preventive maintenance development, backlog management, equipment rebuilds, shutdown planning, MRO inventory, and maintenance data analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial MRO components, including bearings, sprockets, chains, sensors, motors, gearboxes, O-rings, gaskets, and cylinders.
  • Strong understanding of maintenance KPIs, downtime, productivity, and OEE.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including the ability to summarize, filter, and analyze data and create management-ready reports. Pivot table experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, and Zoom.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to facilitate meetings and present maintenance priorities and performance data.
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, analytical, and able to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.


Physical & Schedule Requirements

  • Ability to walk throughout a manufacturing facility and access stairs, ladders, mezzanines, and parts-storage areas.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures, including coolers and production areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule as needed to connect with off-shift and weekend teams.
  • Ability to attend company-sponsored training.
