Responsibilities
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial buildings, following construction plans and schematics.
- Read blueprints and schematics accurately to determine pipe layouts, fixture placements, and system configurations.
- Use hand tools, power tools, pipe threading equipment, and welding techniques to assemble piping systems including gas piping.
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards for plumbing installation and repair.
- Perform heavy lifting of materials and equipment safely on construction sites while maintaining a focus on site safety protocols.
- Conduct routine maintenance, repairs, and operational checks on plumbing fixtures, gas piping systems, and mechanical components.
- Collaborate with construction teams, carpenters, HVAC specialists, and field service crews to complete projects efficiently and accurately.
Qualifications
- Proven construction experience with a strong background in residential and commercial plumbing installation and repair.
- Valid journeyman plumber license or close to taking test demonstrating comprehensive knowledge of plumbing codes and practices.
- Skilled in reading construction plans, blueprints, schematics, and understanding mechanical drawings.
- Experience with pipe threading, welding, gas piping systems, and the use of hand tools and power tools.
- Knowledge of local building codes, safety regulations, MRO (Maintenance, Repair & Operations), and remodeling procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Basic math skills for measurements, calculations related to pipe sizing or system layouts.
- Mechanical knowledge of plumbing fixtures, fittings, schematics for complex systems including gas piping.
- Strong field service experience with excellent problem-solving skills on construction sites or during maintenance operations.
- Valid driver’s license suitable for commercial driving where required; handyman experience or carpentry skills are a plus.
