Duties
- Safely operate various types of forklifts including reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, and pallet jacks to load, unload, and transport materials within the warehouse.
- Perform order picking using equipment such as
pickers and ensure accurate selection for shipping orders. - Manage warehouse distribution tasks by organizing inventory, stocking shelves, and maintaining a clean workspace.
- Assist with shipping and receiving activities by verifying shipments against documentation and preparing items for dispatch.
- Conduct routine equipment repairs and mechanical troubleshooting to keep forklifts and heavy machinery in optimal condition.
- Support warehouse management system (WMS) operations by updating inventory records and tracking movement of goods.
- Follow OSHA safety guidelines diligently during all operations to promote a safe working environment.
Requirements
- Proven experience operating forklifts such as reach trucks, clamp trucks, Hi-Lo, or similar heavy equipment in a warehouse setting.
- Strong knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory control, and order picking procedures.
- Mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic equipment repairs and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards related to materials handling and heavy equipment operation.
- Ability to lift heavy loads consistently and perform physical tasks involving heavy lifting and long periods of standing or walking.
- Basic math skills for inventory counts, measurements, and documentation accuracy.
- Prior experience in shipping & receiving, warehouse distribution, or materials handling is highly preferred.
