Mechanical Engineer
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Design Hydraulic Systems, Weldments, Basic Wire Harnesses, and Sheet Metal Components.
- Create 3D CAD models of designs in SolidWorks.
- Utilize CAD models for the creation of technical drawings.
- Use engineering calculations and analysis throughout the design process and discuss technical details of our designs.
- Interface with vendors to develop designs, execute certifications, and troubleshoot problems.
- Consider practicality, safety, and cost of new designs.
- Understand and apply the concept of Design for Manufacturability.
- Provide engineering information in support of production operations
- Collect data to evaluate and report engineering costs
- Understand the engineering role in supporting a document control system
- Ability to perform hands-on tasks to develop concepts and support production
- Support production CNC operations
- Support production in the development of workstations, assembly lines, and other lean activities
