Custodian

Position Type: Full time or Part time

• Sweeps, dusts, mops, scrubs, washes, vacuums, waxes, and polishes building floors, walls, woodwork, windows, furniture, equipment, and hardware.
• Cleans and sanitizes laboratories, washrooms, and bedrooms, keeps washrooms supplied with paper, towels, and soap. 
• Collects and disposes of trash and garbage; moves equipment and furniture such as beds, tables, and chairs.
• Strip, clean, buff and apply floor sealer and floor finish to solid surface floors, vacuum, and shampoo carpets. 
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc. 
• Wash walls and equipment; use ladders when required in work assignments. 
•  Wash accessible interior and exterior windows. 
• Other duties as assigned. 

 Supervisory Responsibilities: 

• This position does not supervise any employees.

• May also provide cross-training for staff. 

Travel: 
  This position could require minimal travel, less than 5% of the time.

About you:

What you’ll bring:

• 1 year hospitality experience is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license with safe driving record   

What we are looking for:

• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Must have ability to move, lift carry push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds without assistance. 
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. 
• Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time. 
• Knowledge of cleaning and sanitation products, techniques, and methods. 
• Working knowledge of operating cleaning equipment. 
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.  

Work Environment

The work environment may vary depending on daily tasks. Work will take place within hotel rooms, apartment rooms, shared areas. Work environment will vary depending on duties, including interior and exterior conditions.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and listen. The employee is frequently required to use their hands. The employee is required to walk and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. This job requires the ability to occasionally work in stressful conditions and remain focused for extended periods of time. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; tools, equipment and/or other items.
