Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Painter and Body Technician to join our automotive repair team. This role involves performing high-quality auto body repairs, painting, and restoration work to ensure customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will have experience with auto body repair techniques, painting processes, and mechanical repairs, contributing to the overall excellence of our service department. A strong background in automotive repair, fabrication, and customer service is preferred to deliver exceptional results.
Responsibilities
- Perform auto body repairs including dent removal, panel replacement, and sheet metal work
- Prepare vehicles for painting by sanding, masking, and priming surfaces
- Apply paint using airless paint spraying equipment or manual techniques to achieve a smooth finish
- Conduct welding tasks such as MIG welding and soldering for structural repairs
- Fabricate parts or panels using hand tools, power tools, and sheet metal techniques as needed
- Repair or replace auto glass and perform auto glass installation when required
- Conduct vehicle detailing to ensure a clean and professional appearance post-repair
- Assist with vehicle assembly and mechanical repairs when necessary
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment adhering to safety standards
- Communicate effectively with customers regarding repair status and estimates
Experience
- Dealership experience is highly desirable but not mandatory
- Proficiency in auto body repair, auto painting, and auto restoration techniques
- Skilled in MIG welding, welding, soldering, fabrication, and the use of hand tools and power tools
- Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, automotive repair, and auto glass installation
- Experience with airless paint spraying systems preferred
- Familiarity with auto estimating processes is a plus
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to perform heavy lifting when required
- Prior experience in customer service within an automotive setting is advantageous
