Job Summary:
The Employee Benefits Account Manager is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of employer clients, ensuring the successful delivery and ongoing administration of employee benefits programs. This role serves as the primary point of contact for clients, providing strategic guidance, operational support, and exceptional customer service related to group benefits such as health, dental, vision, life, disability, and voluntary benefits.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned client accounts
- Coordinate the implementation, renewal, and ongoing administration of employee benefit programs
- Act as liaison between clients, carriers, and internal teams to resolve service issues
- Prepare and present benefit proposals, renewal analyses, and plan comparisons
- Support clients with benefit communications, enrollment materials, and employee education
- Ensure accuracy and timeliness of eligibility changes, billing issues, and policy documentation
- Monitor compliance with applicable federal, state, and carrier requirements
- Identify opportunities to enhance client benefit offerings and retention
- Maintain accurate client records and documentation within agency management systems
- Deliver high‑quality service while meeting established service level standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent professional experience
- 2 years of experience in employee benefits, insurance, or account management
- General knowledge of group benefits products and insurance markets
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple client priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and benefits administration platforms
- Active state insurance license (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe)
