Job Description:

Broadstep Behavioral Health is actively seeking a Quality Assurance Specialist in the Kingstree, SC area. The QA Specialist is responsible for leading and implementing Lean methodologies to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize processes across the organization. This role also encompasses responsibilities in quality assurance and regulatory compliance, with a special focus on maintaining CARF accreditation standards. The specialist will ensure that visual management tools are kept up to date, conduct mock surveys, develop corrective action plans, and monitor compliance with CARF requirements.

Broadstep's South Carolina programs offer compassionate care and evidence-based practices to stabilize, treat, and formalize a discharge plan at admission to move each individual to a community placement or family home when leaving one of our three Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facilities in the state. All South Carolina programs offer highly individualized treatment provided by a multidisciplinary team of physicians, nurses, psychiatrists, therapists and direct support professionals. South Carolina offers a continuum of services to meet individual needs and is CARF accredited.

Schedule & Location: Full-time, 8am-5pm (flexible), located in Kingstree, SC.

Job Type: This is a fully onsite role that is not eligible for remote work.

Job Duties:

  • Lean Management:
  • Lead and facilitate Lean initiatives across various departments.
  • Analyze current processes to identify inefficiencies and areas for improvement.
  • Implement and monitor Lean tools such as 5S, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, and others.
  • Train and mentor staff in Lean methodologies to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Maintain up-to-date visual management tools, ensuring they accurately reflect current performance metrics and process flows.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Develop, implement, and monitor quality assurance programs to ensure organizational standards are met.
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections to evaluate compliance with internal and external quality standards.
  • Collect and analyze data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with department heads to implement quality improvement initiatives.
  • Prepare and present quality reports to senior management, highlighting areas of success and opportunities for improvement.
  • Regulatory Compliance and CARF Monitoring:
  • Stay informed of relevant regulations, standards, and best practices in the industry, with a particular focus on CARF accreditation requirements.
  • Conduct mock surveys to assess readiness for CARF and other regulatory inspections.
  • Monitor and ensure ongoing compliance with CARF standards, addressing any areas of non-compliance promptly.
  • Develop and implement plans of correction for any identified deficiencies, specifically targeting CARF-related issues.
  • Ensure all policies, procedures, and processes align with CARF requirements and other regulatory standards.
  • Work with legal and compliance teams to address any compliance-related issues and prepare for CARF re-accreditation.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation of all Lean, quality assurance, and compliance activities, with a focus on CARF compliance.
  • Prepare detailed reports on process improvements, audit results, CARF monitoring, and corrective actions.
  • Ensure all records are accurate, up-to-date, and accessible for review by internal and external stakeholders, including CARF surveyors.
  • Team Collaboration:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to support the implementation of Lean initiatives and compliance programs.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees on Lean principles, quality standards, CARF requirements, and regulatory compliance.
  • Foster a collaborative and inclusive environment focused on continuous improvement and excellence.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Engineering, Healthcare Management, or a related field. Lean Six Sigma certification is highly preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Lean management, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance, with specific experience in monitoring CARF requirements preferred.
  • Skills:
  • Strong understanding of Lean principles and tools.
  • Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies, CARF standards, and other regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis and reporting tools.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work in a standard office environment.
  • Occasional travel may be required for site visits and external audits.
