What we require of a Direct Support Professional (DSP):
- High school diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Must pass pre-employment physical, drug and TB screen.
- Must pass a Wisconsin Caregiver background check,
- Patience, excellent communication and basic computer skills
- Valid Wisconsin driver’s license, if applicable
- Regularly required to lift 25 lbs. and occasionally lift or move 50-100 lbs. (assisted)
- One year (1), experience caring for and supporting people with special needs is preferred. We need people who care about others and enjoy inspiring and motivating those individuals we serve.
What the Direct Support Professional (DSP) will be required to do:
- ·Assist individuals with daily activities such as meal preparation, daily personal cares, and medication administration, light housekeeping
- Document and chart daily progress notes such as behaviors, activities and incidents
- Participate in community focused activities
- Attend doctor’s appointments with clients
- Act quickly and responsibly in case of emergency
