Responsibilities for this role include ownership and support of technology solutions for the firm’s portfolio management solution for CLOs, with emphasis on Private Debt and Syndicated
Loans:
- Designs, develops, modifies, adapts, tests, documents, implements, and supports short- and long-term technology solutions through new and existing applications, systems architecture, databases, data integrations, and application infrastructure.
- Develops and maintains .NET C# applications supporting investment workflows, with emphasis on Private Debt and Syndicated Loans, including loan facilities, tranches, agent and borrower workflows, interest and fee schedules, covenant tracking, cashflow models, amortization and waterfall calculations, and event-driven financial processing.
- Supports and develops financial calculations for holdings, valuations, risk, P&L, and exposure analysis.
- Designs, tunes, and maintains SQL Server databases, queries, stored procedures, and ETL processes for financial data.
- Reviews system requirements and business processes; collaborates with portfolio managers, risk teams, operations, and technology partners to translate investment requirements into technical solutions.
- Applies object-oriented programming, design patterns, and software engineering best practices to deliver modular, maintainable, performant, and reliable code.
- Troubleshoots, optimizes, and enhances existing investment platforms and typically works in a highly efficient Agile development environment.
- Leads complex application development efforts through hands-on engineering expertise, sound judgment, and influence.
- Applies deep knowledge of .NET C#, SQL Server, object-oriented design, financial data processing, and investment workflows.
- Develops program logic for new applications and analyzes, modifies, optimizes, and supports logic in existing applications.
- Provides technical guidance, design direction, code review, and mentoring to colleagues.
- Ensures system improvements are successfully implemented, tested, monitored, documented, and supported.
- Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational, data, performance, and financial-processing issues.
- Applies understanding of the financial services industry and private credit domain to support business objectives.
- Guides and influences internal stakeholders by clearly communicating technical solutions, tradeoffs, risks, and implementation plans.
- Impacts the quality, accuracy, reliability, scalability, and timeliness of technology solutions used by investment, risk, and operations teams.
- Operates with a high degree of independence while aligning solutions with policies, architecture standards, control requirements, resource needs, and business priorities.
- Requires advanced understanding and application of software engineering principles, .NET C# development, SQL Server database design and tuning, object-oriented programming, design patterns, ETL processes, financial calculations, and investment-domain concepts.
- Applies strong understanding of the financial services industry, private credit workflows, Private Debt and Syndicated Loans, and how technology supports portfolio management, risk analysis, operations, valuation, reporting, and investment decision-making.
- Provides technical leadership through expertise, influence, mentoring, design guidance, and ownership of complex engineering deliverables.
- Identifies and resolves complex technical, operational, data, workflow, performance, and financial-modeling problems. Develops practical, scalable, supportable solutions for business-critical investment platforms.
- Impacts the reliability, accuracy, performance, maintainability, and business effectiveness of systems supporting the firm’s Private Credit offering. Contributes to the team’s ability to meet quality, timeliness, control, and business objectives.
- Collaborates with and influences engineers, portfolio managers, risk teams, operations teams, and other stakeholders. Communicates complex technical and financial concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- BS/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technology related field or equivalent experience.
- Exhibited technical expertise related to complex systems.
- Proven track record in strategic planning, tactical planning, business, and project management as well as customer and vendor relationship building.
- Strong knowledge of digital platforms in financial services with a focus on trading.
- Success motivating and aligning large cross-functional, matrixed teams striving towards a common goal.
- Ability to juggle different projects/priorities while delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Enthusiastic problem solver with advanced critical and strategic thinking skills, strong attention to detail, a strong understanding of business processes and the integration of technological processes.
- Work comfortably with senior business leadership, work comfortably in a collaborative environment.
- Familiarity with generative and agentic development techniques and processes.
- Bachelor’s degree required, preferred in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT or business / industry, with 3 or more years of leadership experience including mentoring, leading, and guiding engineering staff. Management experience a plus.
