Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
  • Proven track record in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion required.
  • External relations/outreach efforts required.
  • Up to 5 years of progressive work experience in fields related to organizational development and external relations preferred but not required.
  • Experience in public relations and sales/outreach efforts is highly preferred.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of federal, state, and local laws and regulations that impact diversity, equity, and inclusion work and the related residents and employment relationships preferred.
  • Experience working in CCRC or the healthcare industry is a plus, but is not required.
  • Proficient or advanced in MS Office, especially Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • Must be an excellent verbal and written communicator, educator, trainer, presenter, and people connector. This includes communication skills, both in person, via all written media, and via phone.
  • Must be able to work effectively and efficiently under pressure.
  • Must be able to manage multiple projects with specific deadlines and adjust to changing priorities in a professional manner.
  • Must be a strong team player as well as a solid individual contributor.
  • Must have excellent attention to detail.

Essential Duties:

Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Efforts Focused

Under the supervision and direction of the VP of Human Resources and the VP for Sales and Marketing, this role will work collaboratively with key stakeholders to formulate and implement, both on and off campus, plans and tactics in support of Broadmead's strategic goals. These include taking a proactive employment branding approach to ensure EEOC compliance and driving an inclusive employment culture.

  1. Acts as a thinking partner for Broadmead to identify, develop, and implement goals and action steps to enable Broadmead to meet our Inclusion and Belonging goals.
  2. Leadership: Play an important leadership role in Broadmead’s related work groups/committees, including Multicultural Committee, Broadmead’s Employer of Choice Work Group, Jewish Advisory Group, AA/Black Residents Gathering, and other on-campus cultural resident groups. Work with the VP of Human Resources to develop metrics to measure success toward diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging; and to compile and present progress reports for the Board.
  3. In-reach: Leads, designs, and co-leads the delivery of in-reach efforts to ensure that an inclusive culture is evident at Broadmead.

Outreach Focused

Under the supervision and direction of the VP of Sales and Marketing, this role is responsible directly in managing outreach activities to ensure targeted goals are met.

  1. Create and execute an annual Diversity Marketing Outreach plan. Prepare and maintain any required reports. Use available systems to manage the outreach contact base and ensure that outreach inquiries are managed in a timely manner.
  2. Work collaboratively with team members to plan and execute seminars and events as identified in the annual Diversity Marketing Outreach plan and related Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion plans.
  3. Develop and implement a community relations strategy as outlined in the annual Diversity Marketing Outreach plan. Outreach efforts include, but are not limited to, developing relationships with prospective diverse clients in the marketing database, identifying channels for outreach, developing relationships with external stakeholders, and conducting outreach efforts on Broadmead’s behalf, partnering with key community groups for educational efforts regarding living in a CCRC.
  4. Create new and cultivate existing relationships with professional referral sources.
  5. Participate in local organizations that advance the cultural diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging work by making presentations and joining as a member where appropriate.

Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to the following:

  1. Work collaboratively with the VP of Advancement and Communications in Culture and Belonging-related philanthropy efforts/fundraising.
  2. Attend and lead in-services and community training sessions as needed.

Stay updated about relevant operational, competitive,In and company information in order to respond effectively to prospect inquiries and community contacts.

  1. This role may require domestic travel within the mid-Atlantic and surrounding regions to build relationships externally. It may also require overnight travel on a need basis.
  2. Accountable for promoting internal customer service.
