This role oversees the full lifecycle of guest sourcing—from relationship development and outreach to preparation, logistics, and on-air execution—while partnering closely with editorial, programming, and production leadership to align bookings with the network’s strategic goals.
The Director manages a team of bookers and segment producers, sets the editorial bar for guest quality, and builds a world-class roster of analysts, CEOs, policymakers, economists, traders, and influential market voices. Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute Schwab Network’s booking strategy to support live shows, breaking news, digital franchises, and special coverage.
- Proactively identify emerging voices, market influencers, and subject-matter experts relevant to traders and investors.
- Partner with show EPs, senior producers, and editorial leadership to align guests with market drivers, editorial themes, and tentpole events.
- Ensure all guests meet Schwab Network’s standards for credibility, relevance, clarity, and diversity of perspective.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with analysts, CEOs, economists, fund managers, policymakers, think tanks, research firms, PR agencies, and corporate communications leaders.
- Represent the network externally at industry events to scout and cultivate new talent.
- Create a strong pipeline of recurring contributors and exclusive voices for the network.
- Lead and mentor a team of bookers, segment producers, and coordination staff.
- Oversee daily editorial meetings to pitch, confirm, and finalize guest lineups.
- Ensure timely pre-interviewing, briefing docs, segment prep, and communication with anchors and producers.
- Maintain high editorial and ethical standards in all booking decisions.
- Ensure accuracy of guest credentials, disclosures, and conflicts of interest.
- Uphold the network’s tone: credible, actionable, timely, and investor focused.
- 7–12 years of experience in booking, editorial, or talent management—preferably in business, financial news, or major news networks.
- Existing network of industry relationships across Wall Street, corporate comms, policymaking, and financial media.
- Strong editorial instincts and deep understanding of markets, economics, and breaking news cycles.
- Proven ability to lead teams in a fast-paced newsroom environment.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Experience working with anchors, producers, publicists, PR firms, and corporate executives.
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple bookings simultaneously against tight deadlines.
- Comfortable interacting with C-suite leaders, VIPs, and high-profile guests.
