What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Pantry Assistant position at Broad Street Presbyterian Church?
SUMMARY: The Food Pantry Assistant will assist with day-to-day operations .
PRIMARY DUTIES:
· Assist with set up and clean up, stocking shelves
· Rotate stock as needed for food safety/quality control
· Pre-pack boxes for caseworkers
· Help prep for special projects
· As needed, fill orders for neighbors and deliver to their vehicle
· As needed, assist with intake
· Re-pack diapers, feminine hygiene, other products as needed
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Education and Certification: High School Diploma/GED preferred.
· Food safety and other training completed as required.
· Complete Civil Rights Training provided by MOFC annually
Skills/Competencies:
· Excellent customer service, communication and people skills
· Ability to take initiative and work independently
· Must be able to lift 40 pounds
· Able to be on your feet consistently for 4 hours
· Able to bend and move about independently without restrictions
SCHEDULE: Weekday mornings; 7:30 am – 11:30 am; occasional special events
COMPENSATION: Hourly rate plus paid time off per BSPC Personnel policy, applicable insurance benefits
Salary range: $15- $18 per hour starting
