Senior Quality Assurance Engineer

We are seeking a Senior Quality Software Engineer to join our team and working with our Software Engineers and other technical professionals in our SDLC process. We are a leading provider and software technologies in our field and based in Alpharetta, GA. We are working in a hybrid manner so you would need to live within commuting distance of Alpharetta, GA and be willing to work on site as needed - some of the testing is of equipment that would only be available in our office and lab facilities.

In this role, you will be working in our QA/Test environment and will be testing both software and hardware features of our products. This would is primarily manual testing. Some of your responsibilities would include:

• Gather and analyze data in support of business cases, proposed projects, and systems requirements.
• Reproduce issues, when necessary, to assist software development in resolving issues.
• Responsible for project escalations for each assigned project.
• Submit clearly written bug reports and reporting results when necessary to the Software Quality Development Manager.
• Create a test environment and then control the integrity of that environment during the life of a project.
• Monitor status of bug reports creates during testing cycles and provide test metrics to management.
• Provide general status and information about specific project risks to Software Development Managers and the Software Quality Control Engineering Manager.
• Dictate and control proven analytical and problem-solving skills to help validate IT processes through careful testing to maximize the benefit of business investments in IT initiatives.

For this role, we are looking for you to have the following skills and experience:

• 8 years’ experience in software testing, setting up test environments, testing and logging results; or equivalent experience.
• Basic understanding and experience with UNIX commands - Linux (Ubuntu)
• A working knowledge or experience with Jira
• SQL development and ideally experience with PostgreSQL.
• API testing with Postman
• Device level testing - tested hardware devices like POS terminals or other similar terminals.
• Automated testing experience with Cucumber (we are doing all manual testing now but moving toward more automated testing)
• Experience with qTest test at an enterprise platform level
• Experience testing web applications in an AWS environment

You should be able to work in what at times can be a fast paced, deadline oriented environment. You should be detail oriented and very organized and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.
