Position Overview
We are seeking a Project Controls Specialist with at least 5 years of experience developing and maintaining project schedules using Primavera P6 for mission-critical construction projects (or similar large-scale projects). The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience developing, updating, and analyzing project schedules using Primavera P6, and be capable of working collaboratively with engineers, field personnel, and project stakeholders to ensure alignment and schedule integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed Primavera P6 construction schedules for data center construction projects
- Review engineering drawings, procurement milestones, and construction work plans to develop accurate activity lo
- Work with project managers, engineers, and field teams to gather progress updates and forecast schedule performance
- Conduct schedule health checks, critical path analysis, and resource evaluations
- Identify schedule risks, float erosion, and delays, and propose mitigation strategies
- Support development of what-if scenarios and recovery plans when deviations occur
- Generate and distribute schedule reports, look-ahead schedules, and key milestone tracking for stakeholder communication
- Ensure alignment with project execution strategy, permitting requirements, and utility operational constraints
- Assist in developing, maintaining, and monitoring project schedules to align with construction progress
- Support procurement efforts and track material deliveries to maintain project timelines
- Participate in project meetings, providing input and documentation.
- Generate weekly progress reports and distribute to stakeholders
Qualifications
- 5 years of experience developing project schedules for mission-critical construction projects (data centers, industrial facilities, or similar complex environments)
- Proficient in Primavera P6 (required)
- Strong knowledge of construction scheduling, drawings review, and subcontractor coordination
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, project phasing, and utility permitting/energization milestones
- Experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings, one-lines, and civil plans
- Ability to work with cross-functional teams in engineering, procurement, and construction
- Solid understanding of critical path methodology, earned value, and schedule risk principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and experience with reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) is a plus
- Strong communication, time management, and analytical skills
- PMP or PSP certification (preferred)
