The Daly Lab is seeking a highly motivated and creative postdoctoral fellow to finalize the schizophrenia GWAS meta-analysis and follow-up analyses, and to assess convergence of common and rare variant analyses with SCHEMA 2.0.
The position offers opportunities to work closely with computational and experimental collaborators across the Broad Institute, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard School of Public Health, Harvard Medical School, and the greater Boston genomics community. The successful candidate will have access to close collaborations at each of these institutions. Principal duties and responsibilities
- Develop and apply novel statistical and computational methods for genetic of complex disease
- Design and execute independent research projects while contributing to collaborative efforts
- Analyze large-scale datasets
- Develop software tools and reproducible computational workflows
- Interpret and communicate scientific findings through manuscripts, conference presentations, and grant contributions
- Participate actively in lab meetings, journal clubs, and collaborative scientific discussions
Requirements:
Qualified candidates should have:
- 0 -1 years of experience with a Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Genetics, or a related field
- Proficiency in one or more statistical or scripting languages appropriate for scalable data analysis
- Comfort and experience with programming for biological data analysis
- Familiarity with genetic and/or genomic data and analysis, as indicated by publication record
- Ability to communicate scientific material and collaborate well
