About The Job

Brix Paving is looking for experienced Asphalt Paver & Screed Operators to join their growing team! The ideal candidate operates paving machines and screed attachments to apply asphalt to roads, parking lots, and other surfaces. The candidate must ensure smooth, even distribution and proper depth of material, monitors equipment performance, and makes adjustments as needed for quality and safety. The operator will also work closely with the paving crew to maintain efficient and timely operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate asphalt paver and screed to lay asphalt at specified depth and width.
• Monitor and adjust screed to ensure proper thickness, texture, and smoothness.
• Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure continuous material flow into the hopper.
• Perform pre-operational checks and basic maintenance on paving equipment.
• Identify and communicate equipment malfunctions or safety concerns.
• Work closely with the paving crew to maintain consistent pace and quality.
• Assist in setting up string lines or grade control systems as needed.
• Follow traffic control and safety procedures on job sites.
• Maintain cleanliness of equipment and work area.
• Ensure all work meets company, state, and federal specifications and standards.
  
  

Requirements

• 2 years or more of experience operating asphalt paving and screed equipment in road construction or related field.
• 2 years of experience as a Screed Operator - Required
• CDL A is a plus!
• Strong understanding of paving techniques and ability to control depth, grade, and material consistency
• Physical ability to work in outdoor environments for extended hours, including standing, bending, and lifting
• Reliable transportation and willingness to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends as needed.
