Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Memory Care Director to lead our specialized dementia and Alzheimer’s care programs. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in senior care, nursing, or assisted living environments, with proven expertise in managing memory care services. As the Memory Care Director, you will oversee daily operations, develop personalized care plans, and ensure a compassionate, safe, and engaging environment for residents living with cognitive impairments. Your leadership will be instrumental in fostering a supportive team culture while maintaining compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Duties
- Develop and implement comprehensive memory care programs tailored to residents’ individual needs, emphasizing dignity and quality of life.
- Supervise staff members working in memory care units, providing ongoing training, mentorship, and performance evaluations to uphold high standards of care.
- Oversee the creation and management of personalized care plans for residents living with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease.
- Ensure medication administration is conducted accurately and safely according to regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, families, and community resources to support residents’ health and well-being.
- Manage operational aspects including budgeting, staffing schedules, and resource allocation to optimize efficiency and resident satisfaction.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal regulations related to long-term care, assisted living, and memory care services.
- Foster an engaging environment that promotes social interaction, mental stimulation, and emotional support for residents.
Skills
- Extensive experience in senior care settings such as assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or retirement communities with a focus on memory care.
- Proven supervisory and management skills within long-term or home & community care environments.
- Strong knowledge of Alzheimer’s disease, dementia care strategies, and development of effective care plans.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols specific to residents with cognitive impairments.
- Excellent leadership abilities with a focus on team development and operational management.
- Financial acumen including budgeting, resource planning, and cost control measures.
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or group home settings is advantageous.
- Effective communication skills to engage residents’ families, healthcare providers, and team members professionally.
