Job Summary
The Revenue Manager is responsible for developing and executing pricing, inventory, forecasting, and distribution strategies to maximize room revenue, market share, and profitability. This role analyzes market trends, booking pace, competitive performance, and demand patterns to identify opportunities and optimize business results.
The Revenue Manager works closely with Operations, Sales, Marketing, Reservations, and Executive Leadership to ensure alignment of commercial strategies and achievement of revenue goals. The position is responsible for maintaining pricing integrity across all distribution channels, producing accurate forecasts, and providing strategic recommendations to drive revenue growth.
The Revenue Manager must effectively communicate revenue strategies, market trends, risks, and opportunities while supporting the overall financial objectives of the resort.
Essential Functions
Revenue Strategy & Performance
• Develop and execute pricing, inventory, and distribution strategies to maximize occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and total revenue.
• Analyze market demand, booking pace, competitive positioning, and historical trends to identify revenue opportunities.
• Monitor and optimize business mix across transient, group, wholesale, OTA, and direct channels.
• Evaluate market share performance and recommend strategies to improve competitive positioning.
• Manage length-of-stay controls, inventory restrictions, and pricing strategies based on forecasted demand and market conditions.
• Maintain rate integrity and distribution accuracy across all channels.
Forecasting & Analytics
• Produce accurate daily, weekly, monthly, and long-range forecasts for occupancy, ADR, RevPAR, and room revenue.
• Analyze performance against budget, forecast, and prior year results, identifying key drivers and risks.
• Prepare and distribute revenue reports and performance summaries for property leadership and executive teams.
• Utilize revenue management systems, business intelligence tools, and reporting platforms to support strategic decision making.
• Monitor booking pace, cancellations, market trends, and competitor activity to adjust strategies proactively.
Distribution & Channel Management
• Manage channel distribution strategies to maximize revenue and channel profitability.
• Monitor OTA, brand, direct, wholesale, and third-party production and identify opportunities for growth.
• Ensure pricing consistency and rate parity across all distribution channels.
• Partner with distribution and marketing teams to evaluate promotional opportunities and demand-generation initiatives.
Collaboration & Leadership
• Partner with General Managers, Sales, Marketing, Reservations, and Operations teams to develop and execute commercial strategies.
• Lead revenue-focused meetings and communicate pricing, inventory, forecast, and market updates to stakeholders.
• Provide revenue management training and education to hotel team members to increase understanding of revenue strategy and its impact on business performance.
• Share best practices and key learnings with peers and leadership teams.
Financial Planning
• Participate in the annual budget, business plan, and strategic planning process.
• Support profit optimization efforts through effective revenue strategies and business mix management.
• Provide recommendations to improve overall property performance and profitability.
Supportive Functions
• Assist with special projects, analysis requests, and reporting as needed.
• Support implementation of new systems, processes, and revenue initiatives.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret data and develop actionable strategies.
• Demonstrated understanding of hotel revenue management principles, pricing strategies, forecasting, and distribution.
• Ability to analyze financial, market, and operational data to drive business decisions.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
• Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other business software applications.
• Experience with hotel PMS, CRS, channel management systems, and revenue management systems preferred.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly to changing market conditions and business needs.
Education and Experience
• High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree in Hospitality, Business, Finance, Economics, or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 2 years of hotel revenue management experience required.
• Resort revenue management experience preferred.
• Experience with revenue management systems, channel management platforms, and business intelligence tools preferred.
• Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
Salary:
$70,000 - $90,000 salary with bonus
