WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Provide overall guidance for multiple operating companies to ensure proper accounting treatment under US GAAP.
- Coach, support, and train staff on an ongoing basis to ensure a smooth functioning and high performing department.
- Responsible for the monthly general ledger closing process for approximately four operating companies.
- Manage preparation and review of financial statements for individual operating companies
- Partner with corporate functions, such as Legal, Tax, and Treasury, to drive timely, accurate decisions.
- Review and approve various account reconciliations and monthly journal entries.
- Work across OPCO finance and with BAT affiliates to ensure related party accounts balance
- Perform and document various internal controls. Responsible for controls testing to comply with SOX requirements
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- CPA or MBA
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting.
- 8 years of experience in Accounting.
- Strong accounting and business acumen.
- Ability to effectively work in a fast-pace and changing environment.
- Strong oral and written communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to challenge the status quo as necessary.
BENEFICIAL
- Prior experience within a Public Accounting firm.
- High proficiency in PC skills and detailed knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.
