The Position:
The Aquatics Manager position is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the aquatics program, instructors, scheduling, and customer service interactions. Priorities include ensuring the British Swim School curriculum is delivered according to brand and safety standards, instructor team management & training, customer conversations, student & instructor scheduling, as well as teaching lessons. This person must solve problems and make decisions independently within clear parameters, care about outcomes, not just tasks, and take ownership of results. We are looking for someone who is committed, positive, outgoing, and professional that wants to grow and refine their leadership skills and be a big part of our swim school family while making a difference in the lives of kids, their families, and our employees.
Your Typical Responsibilities:
- Teach swim lessons & train instructors
- Creation of weekly employee & lesson schedules
- Address and document employee, customer, and pool incidents that occur
- Reply to customer calls, texts, and emails
- Run meetings with staff to include training & employee development
- Track employee training and ensure completion by set timeline
- Track and enforce employee attendance & performance policy
- Interact with students and their families providing feedback on student progress and answer parents’ questions
- Manage employees to maintain a smooth execution of daily aquatics and service operations
- Promote a positive, organized, and professional environment for employees and customers
- Implement existing industry best practices
- Track and resupply inventory at pool sites
- Help grow our presence in the community
- Other duties assigned by the owners
Minimum Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Experience teaching swim lessons & knowledge of swim strokes.
- Experience working with kids
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office products
- Key Skills: Detail oriented, great follow-through, self-starter, excellent organizational & communication skills. Demonstrate accountability by consistently following through on job responsibilities and assigned tasks.
- The desire to help a small business grow
- 1 years of customer service experience
- 1 years of supervisory/management experience
- Committed, reliable, consistent, predictable, and on-time attendance is critical for student safety, class continuity, and customer experience.
- This position requires paid out of state travel for one week to be trained by the British Swim School aquatics team.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in swimming management is preferred
- Experience swimming competitively
- Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid Certifications (required but may be obtained during training).
- Bilingual
- Experience working with individuals with special abilities. ABA Certificate.
