The Position:

A Swim Instructor at British Swim School teaches swim lessons to children and adults, starting at 3 months old using our fun, gentle and progressive methods. You will receive extensive training to build your confidence and ability to work with a variety of swimmers and abilities. Having fun and interacting with our swimmers is an important part of the role! A strong focus is placed on providing survival swim techniques living out the British Swim School mission and making a big impact on decreasing drowning.

Your Typical Responsibilities:

• Support the Aquatics Manager and/or Business Owner(s)
• Follow British Swim Schools curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
• Work mornings (9-1) or afternoons (3-7) on weekdays and/or mid-day on Saturdays. Major holidays off, minor holidays as required by business needs.
• Maintain certifications throughout employment.
• Work in an environment where noise levels may be moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
• Enthusiastic personality! Should love working with children!
• Comfortable in and around the water. Strong swimming skills are a plus but can be taught and developed!
• Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
• Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
• Satisfactory background screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working with children.
• Swimming experience: 1-2 years preferred but not required.
• Customer service skills: 1 year preferred.
• Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR/AED Certification(s) strongly preferred and associated with higher pay rate (but can be obtained during training)

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
