What are the responsibilities and job description for the Swim Instructor position at British Swim School of Manchester-Nashua?
As a Swim Instructor at British Swim School, you'll influence countless lives and families as you help them start their swim journey, overcome fears, accomplish goals, and grow confident in their abilities in and around the water. You'll do this by teaching water survival and swim skills to swimmers ranging from infants to adults, in small classes of 1-4 students. You will provide engaging, motivating instruction in accordance with the British Swim School training program, encompassing water survival, water acclimation, stroke development, and stroke refinement and endurance. Reporting to the Aquatics Manager, you will ensure safety, track progress, and foster a positive learning environment at pool locations in Manchester and Nashua, with potential opportunities at additional sites.
Responsibilities
- Instruct water survival and swim lessons to students aged 3 months and older
- Assess student skill levels and track progress throughout swim programs
- Motivate and engage students with a positive attitude and high energy
- Communicate effectively with youth and adult swimmers and family members
- Maintain safety standards and practices in all instructional settings
- Conduct lessons at multiple pool locations including Manchester and Nashua
- Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm), weekends (9am- 4pm), and occasional holidays as required by business needs.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Proficiency in swimming techniques and water safety practices
- Strong communication and motivational skills
- Patience and careful attention to safety protocols
Preferred Qualifications
- 1 years of experience in swim instruction
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Lifeguard certification
