Overview

A warm and well-established private family in Jupiter, Florida is seeking a full-time, experienced housekeeper to join their household staff. The family of six includes four children ranging in age from 6 to 17, and one cat. The household has grown to a point where additional staff support is needed, and this role has been created to bring dedicated, professional care to the home on a permanent basis.

 

This is not a standalone cleaning position. The principal draws a clear distinction between cleaning a home and truly maintaining one and is seeking a candidate who understands both as equally important. The ideal housekeeper naturally returns items to their proper place, upholds organizational systems throughout the day, and keeps all rooms always reset and guest ready. 

 

Upon hire, the principal intends to establish clearly defined responsibilities across staff members so that duties are specific and accountability is clear. Light driving may be required on occasion. Primary involvement with the children will center on tidying up after the three youngest.

Responsibilities

• Performing detailed, thorough housekeeping throughout the residence • Maintaining organization systems and keeping all rooms consistently reset and guest ready • Laundry and wardrobe care • Closet and household organization • Inventory management • Keeping all areas of the home in clean, guest-ready condition at all times • Light driving as needed on occasion • Tidying up after the three youngest children as a primary point of involvement with the family

Qualifications

• Proven experience in private household housekeeping• Proactively identifying areas that require attention and addressing them without prompting • Strong organizational instincts and proactive attention to detail • Understanding that maintaining a home extends beyond cleaning to active upkeep of systems and order • Professional, discreet, and reliable with a genuine pride in their work • Comfortable in a home with a cat • Strong verifiable references required 

Requirements

• Prior private household experience required • Valid US work authorization required • Strong verifiable references required

Salary and Benefits

• $35 per hour, depending on experience • Two weeks paid vacation after one year of employment • Client is open to discussing additional benefits based on candidate needs
