Overview
Full-time student in her 30s with a busy schedule in Park Slope is seeking an exceptionally detail-oriented and experienced Housekeeper / Laundress to support the day-to-day upkeep and organization of a beautiful duplex residence. They are looking for someone who can bring consistency, structure, and thoughtful support to the home environment.
This role will work closely with both the principal and the household manager and is ideal for someone who is patient, non-judgmental, and enjoys helping a household run more smoothly. The ideal candidate is highly organized, proactive, and capable of learning the rhythms and routines. The principal is seeking someone who understands that the value of this role extends beyond cleaning alone. The ideal candidate will become a trusted support person who can help create calm, organization, and consistency within a busy household while respecting established routines and preferences.
Laundry and wardrobe care are a significant component of this position, and the family is seeking someone with extensive experience handling delicate fabrics, luxury garments, and specialty care items.
Schedule -
- One full day, 8-hour shift, 9:00am–5:00pm or 10:00am–6:00pm (candidate preference)

Responsibilities
- Full household cleaning and upkeep of a two-bedroom, 2.5-bath duplex
- Extensive laundry care including washing, folding, steaming, ironing, and wardrobe organization
- Proper care and maintenance of delicate fabrics including silk, satin, and specialty garments
- Dusting artwork, shelving, cabinetry, decorative items, and hard-to-reach areas
- Deep attention to detail including baseboards, windows, cabinet interiors, and overlooked spaces
- Maintaining an organized, tidy, and functional household environment
- Identifying opportunities for improved organization while respecting existing systems and routines
- Caring for household linens, towels, and bedding
- Collaborating with the household manager regarding recurring tasks and quarterly household projects
- Assisting with routine household maintenance schedules such as window cleaning and seasonal projects
Qualifications
- Patient, kind, and non-judgmental personality
- Comfortable working collaboratively with both the principal and household manager
- Ability to work independently and anticipate household needs
- Experience working in homes with artwork and specialty furnishings preferred
Requirements
- Significant experience as a Housekeeper and/or Laundress in a private household
- Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards
- Extensive knowledge of garment care and luxury fabrics
- Strong organizational skills and ability to create and maintain systems
- Comfortable around dogs and pet-friendly households
