Responsibilities
What You Will Do:
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair residential electrical systems and components
- Perform electrical installations, upgrades, and replacements in residential homes
- Conduct comprehensive electrical safety inspections and maintenance evaluations
- Present repair and upgrade options clearly and professionally to homeowners
- Educate customers on electrical safety, energy efficiency, and available solutions
- Perform installation, repair, and replacement of:
- Electrical panels and service upgrades
- Breakers and fuse panels
- Switches and receptacles
- Interior and exterior lighting
- Circuit wiring
- Surge protection systems
- Electrical service and metering equipment
- Other residential electrical components
- Safely work in attics, crawl spaces, basements, garages, and other residential work environments
- Utilize electrical testing and diagnostic equipment to identify issues and verify repairs
- Accurately complete service documentation, invoices, and customer records
- Collect payments and ensure all paperwork is completed correctly
- Maintain inventory, tools, equipment, and cleanliness of company vehicles
- Collaborate effectively with dispatch, customer service, and management teams
- Follow all company policies, safety standards, and local, state, and national electrical codes
Qualifications
What We’re Looking For
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum of 5 years of residential and/or light commercial electrical experience
- Proven experience diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems
- Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
- State Electrical License preferred but not required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Strong understanding of residential electrical systems and installation practices
- Knowledge of electrical codes, regulations, and safety standards
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to explain technical information in a clear, customer-friendly manner
- Strong organizational and time-management skills
- Self-motivated and able to work independently
- Comfortable working flexible schedules, including occasional evenings, weekends, or on-call rotations
- Smartphone, tablet, and mobile technology proficiency
- Basic computer skills
- Experience using service management software preferred
- Ability to navigate email and digital documentation systems
