Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility support.
- Monitor residents’ vital signs and observe changes in health or behavior, promptly reporting any concerns to nursing staff.
- Provide specialized care for residents with dementia or Alzheimer’s disease, implementing memory care strategies and behavior management techniques.
- Support residents during meals by preparing nutritious food, assisting with feeding if necessary, and ensuring a clean dining environment.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping duties, including cleaning resident areas and common spaces.
- Document resident progress and care activities thoroughly in compliance with facility policies and state regulations.
- Collaborate with team members to develop personalized care plans that respect each resident’s preferences and needs.
Requirements
- Prior experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care techniques, and behavior management strategies.
- Certification in First Aid and CPR is required; additional certifications such as medication administration or Hoyer lift training are a plus.
- Ability to work effectively with individuals with developmental disabilities or disabilities requiring personal support.
- Strong communication skills to interact compassionately with residents, families, and team members.
