REPORTS TO: The Director of Athletics, who provides a final evaluation to the superintendent, and the
building administrator.
Primary Functions: To provide each enrolled student of middle school age an opportunity to participate
in an extracurricular athletic activity that will foster physical skills, a sense of worth and competence, a
knowledge and understanding of sports, and the principles of fair play.

- Assist in the organization and administration of the overall program of extracurricular athletics.
- Foster good school community relations.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming of athletic contest transportation requests of coaches.
- Scheduling, rescheduling, and confirming of games/practices.
- Maintaining master practice schedules, master game schedules, master transportation requests.
- Scheduling athletic contests in scheduling software.
- Assigning and confirming athletic officials.
- Rescheduling and communicating with athletic assigners and officials.
- Assigning and confirming athletic contest game workers.
- Maintaining master game workers schedules.
- Develop appropriate rules and regulations governing student conduct during after school events.
- Assist in the development of budgets by providing equipment and supply requests when

- Create, update, and share site information to visiting teams.
- Ability to read, interpret directions, write reports, and communicate effectively with students,

- Valid Connecticut coaching certification or temporary emergency coaching permit.
- Updated CPR/First Aid training approved by Connecticut State Department of Education.
- Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
- Has substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sports offered at the middle school level.
