POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT COACH
REPORTS TO: The head coach, in conjunction with the Director of Athletics.
SUMMARY: To carry out the aims and objectives of the sport program as outlined by the head
coach. To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy, and physical training necessary for them to
realize a degree of individual and team success while at the same time helping the athlete to achieve an
appreciation for the values of discipline, sportsmanship, and an increased level of self-esteem.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.

- Is accountable for and assists the head coach in the issuing, collection, and storage of all

- Assist in the necessary preparation to hold scheduled sport events and practices, and adheres to

- Assist the head coach in explaining the team's training rules, CIAC eligibility rules, and procedures

- Understand the proper administrative line of command, and refer all student and parent requests
- Never criticizes, admonishes, or argues with the head coach or any staff member in the presence
- Is responsible for the actions and conduct of the athletes whenever they are under their
- Is responsible for the general health and welfare of students in their sport, and gives appropriate
- Attends all staff meetings and carries out scouting assignments as outlined by the head coach.
