Our Homemakers help ensure patients can remain where they feel most loved - at home.
You will support families by offering comfort, relief, and a caring presence through tasks such as:
• Preparing meals with care
• Light housekeeping and laundry services
• Plant and home upkeep
• Offering companionship and encouragement
Your kindness will bring ease, familiarity, and comfort to patients and families during one of life’s most important journeys.
Monday – Friday | 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Reliable vehicle required
• Valid driver’s license required

An Average Day:
(Includes, but not limited to)
- Provide homemaking activities that allow patients to remain safely in their homes.
- Keep the home clean and organized through light housekeeping (vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, dusting).
- Prepare and serve meals according to patient/family needs and the plan of care.
- Wash dishes, clean the kitchen after meals, and care for laundry and linens.
- Offer companionship, conversation, and emotional support, including reading or listening.
- Observe and report changes in a patient’s condition to the RN Case Manager.
- Support safety, hygiene, and good nutrition practices within the home.
- Help with organization of the home and provide simple plant care as needed.
- Complete visit documentation in accordance with hospice guidelines.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of successful work experience and prior homemaker/life experience.
- Compassion, empathy, and the ability to support patients and families with sensitivity.
- Good oral and written communication skills; ability to read, write, and follow instructions.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Understanding of hospice philosophy and comfort with issues of death and dying (preferred).
- Dependable and flexible with scheduling, including weekends.
