Food Service/Utility Person

This is a 182-day position, which includes all days that school is in session, as well as one workday before the start of the school year and one workday after the conclusion of the school year. The additional workdays will be scheduled by the Business Manager or designee. The position is 19.5 hours a week. Hours and times will be arranged by the Business Manager or designee. This will be a part-time union position. Benefits are outlined in the union contract. Duties Include: Preparing all food associated with the Food service program. Set up and clean up the kitchen area and other areas used in the Food Service preparation. This includes, but not limited to, sanitizing all food service areas and mopping/sweeping of floors, and anything else needed to maintain proper cleaning standards required by the Board of Health Department. Trash removal Ability to work with students and staff in a professional and courteous manner Responsible for cashing out students using a POS system register. The Food Service/Utility person will process student transactions accordingly and balance a cash draw at the end of each day. Food Service Utility person is required to follow all ServSafe protocols when handling all food. Food Service Utility person is responsible to follow all food service rules and regulations required by the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education and USDA Food and Nutrition Service. Provide training for new employees when needed. Any other duties assigned by the Business Manager or designee pertaining to the school’s food service program.
