POSITION TITLE: Director of Enrollment Services
DEPARTMENT: Student Services and Enrollment Management
PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, with occasional travel to all Bristol campus locations.
REPORTS TO: Vice President, Student Services and Enrollment Management
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: Full-time and part-time unit and non-unit staff in the enrollment areas, including at the Attleboro, New Bedford, and Taunton campuses.
POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, grant funded, non-unit position with benefits. Some nights and weekends required. The role is subject to Grant Appropriations.
SALARY: $108,634.38 - $114,134.00 annually

STATEMENT OF DUTIES:

The Director of Enrollment Services provides strategic leadership for student onboarding, enrollment center operations, and post-admit engagement initiatives that increase enrollment yield, completion of the enrollment process, and attendance through the first day of classes. Reporting to the Vice President of Student Services and Enrollment Management, the Director oversees enrollment centers across all Bristol locations and leads a seamless, student-centered onboarding experience that removes barriers from admission through matriculation.

The Director collaborates closely with Admissions, Advising, Financial Aid, the Registrar, Academic Affairs, Information Technology Services, Strategic Analytics, and other campus partners to deliver coordinated, data-informed services that support enrollment, student success, and operational excellence.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Student Onboarding and Enrollment Initiatives
    • Develop, implement, and assess comprehensive onboarding and matriculation strategies focused on increasing post-admit yield rates to increase new student enrollment.
    • Lead proactive outreach and engagement efforts for admitted students using phone, text, email, virtual support, events, and case management strategies.
    • Coordinate seamless onboarding experiences for new, transfer, returning, adult, online, and special population students.
    • Monitor student engagement, identify barriers and melt points, and implement targeted interventions to improve enrollment outcomes.
    • Partner with other stakeholders across the institution to coordinate orientation, advising, registration, financial aid completion, wellness support, and first-semester readiness initiatives.
    • Leverage technology, data analytics, communication tools, and workflow automation to improve onboarding processes and student engagement.
  • Leadership and Operations
    • Provide strategic leadership and supervision for staff and student-facing support operations across all locations.
    • Foster a culture of exceptional customer service, collaboration, continuous improvement, and student-centered support.
    • Direct daily enrollment center operations, ensuring efficient in-person and virtual services, accurate information, and effective student referrals.
    • Provide ongoing coaching, training, and professional development related to enrollment systems, student engagement strategies, institutional policies, and customer service best practices.
    • Conduct regular staff meetings, performance evaluations, and continuous improvement initiatives to support operational effectiveness and staff development.
    • Develop and improve policies, procedures, workflows, and service standards that enhance the student experience and operational efficiency.
    • Coordinate enrollment events, onboarding programs, registration initiatives, and admitted student events.
    • Prepare reports, assessments, and recommendations to support strategic planning and manage departmental budgets and resources.
  • Institutional Leadership and Collaboration
    • Serve as a member of the SSEM Leadership Team and participate in institutional committees and strategic initiatives.
    • Collaborate across Enrollment Management, Academic Affairs, and other key departments to strengthen onboarding, retention, and student success efforts.
    • Engage in meaningful disaggregated data analysis to assess equitable outcomes and improve student access, belonging, persistence, and enrollment completion.
    • Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations, policies, and procedures while maintaining current knowledge of enrollment services, student success practices, and emerging technologies.
    • Demonstrate professionalism and consistently reflect the college's mission, vision, values, and commitment to equity and success.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.



Job Requirements:


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (or 8 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree).
  • Progressive leadership, administrative and supervisory experience, with a minimum of four (4) years of experience in enrollment management, admissions, financial aid, registrar, student affairs, or a student services area within higher education.*
    • An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience shall be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and manage staff, including hiring, supervision, coaching, and performance evaluation.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across institutional departments (e.g., Admissions, Financial Aid, Academic Affairs) to support student enrollment.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead organizational change, implement innovative practices, and build collaborative solutions in complex institutional environments.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and organizational skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated commitment to achieving equitable outcomes for all students through upholding the community college mission and serving the needs of first-generation and historically excluded populations.
  • Demonstrated commitment to embracing and serving the needs of a diverse community, including the ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
  • Experience with data-informed decision-making, including tracking student outcomes and using student information systems.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with student information systems and Microsoft Office 365 applications.
  • Prior budget management experience.
  • Ability to travel between campuses and community sites, and to work occasional evenings and weekends as required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of a Master's degree in higher education or related field.*
  • Prior supervisory experience in a collective bargaining environment.
  • Prior experience working at a multi-campus community college.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of strategic enrollment and/or strategic recruitment planning.
  • Experience working with one or more of the following software packages: Slate, Ellucian Banner, Degree Works, Argos, and EAB/Navigate.
  • Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
