Position Summary
The Automotive Parts Counter Sales Associate is responsible for assisting retail and commercial customers in identifying, locating, and selling the correct automotive parts and accessories. This position requires strong automotive knowledge, excellent customer service skills, attention to detail, and the ability to learn our inventory management and point-of-sale systems. The ideal candidate has previous experience in the automotive industry, preferably in retail auto parts, dealership parts departments, repair facilities, or related automotive fields.
Primary Responsibilities Assist customers in person and over the phone with automotive parts inquiries.
Identify the correct replacement parts using catalogs, electronic lookup systems, and customer information.
Process sales transactions accurately using our inventory and point-of-sale software. Receive, stock, organize, and maintain inventory.
Verify incoming shipments for accuracy.
Maintain clean, organized, and well-stocked sales and warehouse areas.
Build and maintain strong relationships with retail and commercial customers.
Assist with warranty claims and product returns when necessary. Work with team members to ensure efficient daily operations.
Learn new responsibilities and assist in other areas of the business as needed.
Maintain a professional, positive attitude while providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications Required Previous experience in the automotive industry.
Working knowledge of automotive systems, components, and replacement parts.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Basic computer skills and the ability to learn new software systems.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
Preferred Experience working for an automotive parts retailer such as O'Reilly Auto Parts, AutoZone, Advance Auto Parts, NAPA Auto Parts, or Carquest.
Experience in an automotive dealership parts department.
Experience using electronic parts catalogs and inventory management systems.
Knowledge of inventory control and warehouse procedures.
Commercial parts sales experience is a plus.
Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
Frequently lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Bend, reach, stoop, and move throughout the warehouse and sales floor. Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
Pay: From $13.50 per hour
