- BARC is currently seeking professional, caring, and motivated Direct Support Professional (DSP) assisting individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities in our Greenhouse. If you love plants, gardening and a desire to make an impactful and meaningful difference in someone else's life this is the position for you. Applicants with no experience or a career change are encouraged to apply – we will train the right candidates.
Minimum Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record back 3 years, and reliable transportation.

- Assist management team in identifying and providing opportunities for learning new skills and independence working with each individuals’ goals and plans.
- Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
- Provide daily care to greenhouse plants including, planting, transplanting, pruning, watering, fertilizing, controlling insects and disease, ventilating, and controlling weeds; manage plant nutrient levels.
- Maintain work area in a clean and orderly condition.
- Provide customer support for our greenhouse patrons.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- May include extended periods of standing, sitting, walking with occasional periods of stooping, crouching, kneeling.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 25 pounds.
