What are the responsibilities and job description for the SUBSTITUTE Food Services Assistant position at Brisbane School District?
Brisbane School District is looking for substitute food services assistants who performs skilled food production work in the school kitchen to prepare and serve student meals, and perform related duties in the operation of a school food service program.
- Organize the preparation and serving of school breakfasts and school lunches, including field trip lunches at all District schools.
- Receive and inventory fresh fruits and vegetables, milk, condiments and prepared meals from district’s food service vendor, including inventory of any government-donated commodities, and follows procedures for proper receiving, storage and distribution of same.
- Help maintain inventory of food service equipment and ensure that all equipment is in working order, including that ovens and refrigerators are operating at correct temperatures.
- Prepare food prior to serving: chop, cut, chill, heat etc. as needed and per instructions.
- Portion and serve food according to established procedures and instructions.
- Operate a variety of standard kitchen equipment.
- Perform general kitchen clean-up, including appropriate storage/disposal of leftover food. Maintain kitchen facilities and equipment in clean, organized and sanitary condition.
- Adheres to all conditions and protocols of working under the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, and/or the California Universal School Meals Program..
- Supervises students who may be helping to serve meals.
- Performs related duties as assigned LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
- Persons hired into this classification are required to obtain and maintain a food safety certification.
- Final candidate must submit recent TB test results showing proof that she/he is free of active tuberculosis.
- Final candidate will be fingerprinted.
- At least 2 references.
