The Brisbane School District seeks one full-time physical education teacher for grades 4-8.

Qualifications /Requirements:
- California Teaching Credential with appropriate English-learner authorization
Job Goal: To create a developmentally appropriate physical education program; to provide a physically and emotionally safe classroom that fosters learning and personal growth; to provide a stimulating, child-centered environment in which children can explore and learn; to offer educational materials that are self-correcting in order that children can learn through discovery; to provide each child with instruction that is geared to their ability and interests and in compliance with the state standards; to foster an environment where children maintain their natural joy of learning.
Performance Responsibilities:
1. Teaches physical education to pupils in a classroom, incorporating the Common Core State Standards through an integrated instructional approach.
2. Utilizes the program of Lifeskills with the children and models respect for each other and for students so that students will develop these Lifeskills as they mature.
3. Develops lesson plans using instructional materials and effective strategies such as differentiation to meet the learning needs of a diverse student group.
4. Establishes and maintains standards of behavior needed to achieve a positive learning atmosphere in the classroom.
5. Evaluates pupils’ academic and social growth, keeps appropriate records, and prepares progress reports.
6. Communicates with parents through conferences and other means to discuss pupil’s progress and interpret the school program.
7. Identifies pupil needs and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping pupils solve health, attitude, and learning problems.
8. Maintains professional competence through in-service education activities provided by the district and self-selected professional growth activities.
9. Participates cooperatively with the principal in the evaluation process.
10. Selects and requisitions instructional aids; maintains required inventory records.
11. Supervises pupils in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
12. Administers standardized tests in accordance with the district testing program.
13. Participates in curriculum development programs as required.
14. Participates in faculty committees and the sponsorship of pupil activities.
Terms of Employment:
Ten month year. Salary determined by bargaining agreement. This is a full-day instructional program.
Evaluation:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of and terms of contract with the Brisbane Elementary Teachers Association.

Requirements / Qualifications
The Brisbane School District will consider applicants holding or immediately eligible for a Single Subject Teaching Credential in PE with English Learner Authorization. This includes Out-of-state applicants and University Interns.

Comments and Other Information
Before completing the hiring process, applicants will be required to submit recent evidence of being free of active tuberculosis or not at risk of TB. Applicant must also be fingerprinted in accordance with state law. Current state law requires that all public school personnel be vaccinated against COVID-19 or submit to weekly testing. Proof of vaccination is required to exempt yourself from testing.
Placement on the salary schedule is determined by the superintendent and is based on original transcripts which must be furnished by the applicant. Review of applications will begin immediately and interviews scheduled accordingly. Applicants will not be contacted unless selected for an interview.
Pay: $35,263.50 - $57,366.50 per year
