Custodian/Janitor

Position Title: Janitor/Custodian

Shift: 2nd 5:00PM-8:00PM Monday-Friday

Reports To: Sift Supervisor / Director of Operations

FLSA Status: Part Time, Hourly, Non-Exempt

Summary

The Janitor/Custodian position ensures efficient and professional cleaning operations within the specified building. This position is a working level position that ensures assigned site(s) are being cleaned and disinfected to their full potential. This position will require a basic level of knowledge of cleaning, and workmanship.

Essential Job Functions / Responsibilities

· Wash windows and mirrors.

· Take trash and recycling out.

· Sanitize surfaces.

· Cleans, sanitizes, and stocks restrooms.

· Sweeps, mops, polishes, and vacuum floors.

· Uses common cleaning tools.

· Refill paper product dispensers/soap dispensers

· Be observant and have a high attention to detail.

· Possess knowledge and understanding of company policy, procedure, and operational requirements.

· Provide excellent customer service.

· Lock the doors and turn off light at the end of shifts.

· Ensure buildings are secured during/at end of shifts.

· High initiative and reliable.

· Complete a cleaning checklist.

· Ensure all areas of the building are cleaning to set standards.

• Judgement and high level of integrity.

Physical Demands

This position requires long periods standing, walking, bending, and lifting to 50 lbs.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work

• Full Time, Hourly, Non- Exempt.
• $14.50 per hour.
• General Office/School.
• Work assignment may vary in days of the week and time of day.
• On site – Downtown Flint location.
• 2nd Shift 5:00PM-8:00PM Monday-Friday

Required Education and Experience

• Minimally, High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age.
• Possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have relievable transportation.
• Must pass a criminal background check.
• Previous Cleaning experience preferred.

Other Duties

There will be a 90-day probation period to assess performance to functions and responsibilities listed, if the probation period is fulfilled to satisfaction this will become a permanent job assignment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.50 per hour
