Founded in 1880, Brimmer and May School is a PK–12 coeducational day school located in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, enrolling approximately 390 students with an average class size of 12. Athletics play an important role in helping students grow as teammates, competitors, and members of the school community.
Brimmer and May is seeking a Girls Tennis Coach for the Spring 2026 season (March 30 – mid-May). The program emphasizes player development, sportsmanship, and building a positive team culture that aligns with the school’s mission of developing confident, engaged learners and leaders.
Located just minutes from Boston, Brimmer’s campus is easily accessible via public transportation. The MBTA Green Line (D Branch) stops at Chestnut Hill Station, which is adjacent to campus.
This position is a great opportunity for former college players, aspiring coaches, educators, or tennis professionals who are interested in mentoring student-athletes and contributing to a strong school community.
Position Responsibilities
The Girls Tennis Coach will:
- Plan and lead organized, developmentally appropriate practices
- Teach tennis fundamentals, match strategy, and competitive preparation
- Foster a positive and inclusive team culture that prioritizes growth, effort, and sportsmanship
- Prepare lineups and manage matches during competition
- Support individual player development while maintaining a team-first environment
- Communicate effectively with student-athletes, families, and the athletic department
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all student-athletes
Schedule
Practices and matches are typically held Monday through Friday during the season.
- 3:45 – 5:30 p.m.
Occasional away matches may require a later return time.
Qualifications
- Experience playing and/or coaching tennis preferred
- Interest in mentoring and developing middle and high school student-athletes
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Commitment to the mission and values of Brimmer and May School
